What is One-Touch Conferencing?

When it comes to Mobile Conferencing, what does ‘One-Touch Access’ actually mean?

One-Touch Into Any Meeting, Hands Free Dialing, Conference Calling, Easy, Mobile Conferencing Call AppAlthough commonly used in the world of conference call services, the term ‘One-Touch Access’ lends itself to a broad range of possible definitions. In our opinion, it shouldn’t matter whether a conference service requires you to enter one code or three – joining should always be as simple as a single touch. In light of its rising popularity, we’d like to take a moment to touch upon our definition of one-touch conferencing and outline the key features of the MobileDay app that simplifies conference calling on iPhone and Android.

  1. Auto-detection of conference calls within calendar invites

  2. Custom dialing sequences for each conference number

  3. Auto-recognition and dialing when you’re the host

  4. Carrier and location specific dialing

  5. Dynamic Dialing based on location at time of call

Auto-detection of conference calls - As a guest to any meeting, you have litte control over the format that the host uses to provide the conference details. We know this, that’s why MobileDay’s call detection logic has been built to recognize a wide range of conference formats and terms so that you’re notified each time you have a call.
Custom Dialing Sequences - All conference phone numbers are not the same, and the use of generic dialing sequences often fails. The MobileDay App takes care of this for you by identifying and applying the sequence for each conference number. In addition, the app also accounts for the different device and OS dialing behaviors.
Hosting Calls - When joining a call that you host, it’s rare that you dial the same codes and extraneous characters as your guests. A truly One-Touch service recognizes when you are the host, and knows to dial you in using your custom host sequence. It may be easier to remember your own codes, but we prefer to remember and dial them for you so you can keep your eyes on the road and stay focused on what’s important.
Carrier-specific Rules - Depending on where you are and where you are calling, your carrier may require that you dial into the conference call a little differently. For example, certain Canadian mobile carriers require a ’1′ to be dialed first when making a long-distance call but do not require it when it’s a local call. For a one-touch experience, the MobileDay app handles this without your involvement.
Dynamic Dialing - Companies often have more than one phone number to join the same conference call. Even within the US, companies may have a combination of toll and toll-free numbers to get on the same call. In many cases, one of these numbers is cheaper to use than the other based on the location of the phone at the time of the call. By leveraging the phone’s location, the MobileDay app can recognize which phone number is the cheapest to use when the call is being placed and auto-insert the number in the sequence. This is done automatically so that the employee can still benefit from One-Touch access while the company saves money by ensuring that the lowest cost dial-in number is used for the call. A win-win situation all around!

“Wow What An Amazing App For My iPhone! I Have Told My Team And Everyone I Come Across How Great It Is! Thanks MobileDay!!!”

Tammy N., Chicago, Il.

Title: Consultant

Company: Technology

Testimonial:”Wow what an amazing app for my iPhone! I run a consulting practice and have between 25-30 calls a week. A majority of those calls are made from client sites, my car or just trying to get from point A to point B. This application has changed my ability to be effective. I never thought my favorite app would be business related! My two favorite features are  the one touch “join” button and the reminders. It’s hard to remember some of the longer call entry sequences and when you dial from your phone while referencing the calendar details on the phone can be challenging. This application dials it for me!! I also love that the reminder pops up when it’s time to make the call not 15 min before. Sometimes I get distracted in those 15 min so the instant reminder is great. I have told my team and everyone I come across how great it is! Thanks MobileDay!!!”

We’ve Been Listening: New MobileDay Features on iPhone

Developing a successful mobile app is a challenge.  If it were not for the tremendous feedback that we receive from our users, our smart business app would not be what it is today.  We capture all of your feedback, categorize it, prioritize it and apply much of what we learn to upcoming development efforts to ensure that your mobile day goes smoothly.  We’ve been listening.  As a result, MobileDay now includes the following new features:

  • Online Meetings - One-Touch access into any Cisco WebEx®, Citrix GoToMeeting®, Google+ Hangouts or Apple FaceTime meetings that are scheduled in your calendar

  • Quick Call - Users can easily start or join ad hoc voice conference calls with the ability to store meeting host and guest call entry information in the app

  • Reminders - Users can easily send call entry details to guests via SMS text to provide One-Touch access to their calls, right from the text message

  • Siri - Launch MobileDay using Siri with the general command, “open MobileDay”, where Siri is available

The new features join the following core functionality:

  • Calendar Integration – Seamlessly detects upcoming scheduled calls and conference calls in the user’s mobile calendar .
  • One-Touch Dialing – Automatically dials into conference call in your mobile calendar without the need for users to enter codes, #, 1s, or other characters.
  • Support for any conference calling service –Whether host or guest of any conference call, MobileDay provides access with a single tap of the Join button.
  • Call Notification – Notifies the user 30 seconds before each call with options to join, dismiss, or snooze the alert with one touch.
  • Communicate with Meeting Attendees – Enables users to quickly and easily email or text their fellow meeting or conference call attendees with standard messages like, “I’m running late” or “Are we still meeting?” or even a custom message.

Keep the feedback coming.  We hear you!

Meghann C., Colorado

Title: Social Media Consultant

Company Type:  Marketing Consultancy

Testimonial: “I am on conference calls constantly (isn’t every entrepreneur these days!) I tend to find myself fumbling through calendars to find the call in numbers, access codes and pin numbers, then writing them down on any scrap of paper I can find – sometimes while in my car – so that I can call in. I’ve been using MobileDay for a couple of weeks now and it’s so easy! As a business owner, every minute counts, so I’m always looking for time-saving apps, tools, and techniques! MobileDay helps me save time and makes it easy for me to create my own conference calls, as well as join others. The numbers I’ve entered work with their system so that when I need to,  the app dials the numbers correctly (at this point 100% of the time!) Excited to continue using MobileDay and see just how much time and headache it can save me!”
